SEND at Jerome
At Jerome Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every child is supported to reach their full potential.
Our SEND provision reflects the requirements of the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Code of Practice. We carefully monitor the progress and development of all pupils. Where a child is identified as having additional needs, Mrs Becky Ball, SENDCo, or Mrs Jo Sharrock, SENDCo Assistant, will work closely with parents and the class teacher to identify appropriate support, set targets and review progress.
Parents and carers are fully involved in the support provided for their child. We are committed to inclusion and to ensuring that all children with SEND can access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
Where appropriate, we work with Staffordshire County Council's specialist SEND services, including the Specialist Teaching Support Service, Autism Inclusion Team and Educational Psychology Service, as well as health and other professionals to meet individual needs.
Our Governors monitor SEND provision within school, with a designated Governor working alongside the SENDCo.
We also recognise that children with particular strengths and abilities may require additional challenge and support to ensure they are appropriately stretched in their learning.
